Ace actor Aamir, eager to meet Rajasthan CM after 1stepisode of SatyamevJayate.

In connection to that Aamir meets Ashok Ghelton on Wednesday; the episode highlighted the story of the two journalists who exposed the foetic cases in states such as Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
Post the episode, the government of Rajasthan had taken several actions to eradicate the doctors who are linked with sex determination tests and abortions.
One of the senior officials of the CM office of Rajasthan told that, Aamir Khan is very eager to have meeting with the CM and also CM to get the case details of the doctors who are involved ,make them appear in the court.
In the 2011 census, for 1000 boys of age group 0-6 the state Rajasthan has 883 girls. The state has been in the news recently for female infanticide and now the government has taken steps to not to determine the sex (test) in the clinics.

Clash Between India’s Best openers Gambir(Kolkata team) and Sehwag (Delhi team) in IPL !!
May 7th, 2012Today we will be able to see the match between the top two teams in the IPL i.e. Delhi and Kolkata. Already Delhi in 1st position and Kolkata in 2nd position, both the teams are in excellent form, whichever team wins there won’t be much difference in the points table. Concern for Delhi is that Kevin Petersen’s absence will have slight impact in batting line up, which makes MahelaJayawardene to take responsible in the middle order, though they are comfortable in both batting and chasing.
On the other had Gambhir’s team have won consecutive four games, the concern is that they are too dependent on the captain, so other players like Kallis , Mccullum should show their game.

Assam: 200 passengers of ferry is still missing

Approximately over 200 passengers of the ferry, capsized boat near the Medartary in the Dhubri district of Assam was found missing due to the strong and sudden cyclonic storm that had occurred on Monday evening. Army Board Security Force along with help of local villagers engaged to rescue operation of the capsized boats at the river of Brahmaputra in the village named Bura-Buri in the states of Assam.
However on Tuesday morning they resumed the search operations with army BSF (Board Security Force) and on National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). According to the sources from the survivors, they said that over 400 passengers were there while boarding and when tragedy occurred.
They said about 350 tickets were sold for adults and there were many children travelled. The boat consists of men, women and children in larger count. Jayanto Narayan Choudury, Director General of Police said that over 100 of people were rescued and now at safety and 17 bodies were found dead and 35 still missing and 10 were severely injured.
Nevertheless, State Disaster Management authorities said to the police sources a day before as 52 bodies were recovered whereas on morning 6.15pm the police sources revealed only 17 bodies were only recovered.
The sight which is mentioned as location of mystery, Medartary said to be 50 km away from Bangladesh and so India has obtained assistance from them as they may seem to be washed far away.
To the people who were dead in the tragedy the government announced to issue 2lakh to their family, said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Tarun Gogoi, Assam Chief Minister said that those who were injured will be given Rs. 50,000.
State government announced to provide free treatment to the victims who are affected and they assured to have help from the Centre’s help in relief operations. Sympathies were shown towards the deceased family members.

Saif’s daughter Sara gets film proposals
April 22nd, 2012Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan apparently is getting many movie offers. 16 yeas Sara turns hot favourite of the producers after she posed with her mother Amrita Singh on the cover page of “HELLO” magazine. She made quite an impact with a dazzling debut on the cover of the magazine three months ago in January.
According to the sources, Sara has become one hot property in B-town and top filmmakers of Bollywood are pursuing Sara to act in their films. Sara’s mother Amrita Singh confirmed to media, “After seeing the magazine cover page, 5 eminent filmmakers called us and said that they wanted her to be a heroine in their next project but Sara is too young to venture into movies.”
However, Sara has no celluloid dreams in her eyes for now and her current plan is to go to Yale for higher studies. She is good at academics and wants to become a doctor. Amrita started her career at a young age but wants her daughter to concentrate on studies. She does not want her daughter to take up this glamorous career at so little age.

Anna Hazare joins hand with Ramdev for fast on June 3

Yoga guru Ramdev and Social Activist Anna Hazare has planned to join hands for doing the fast on June 3 at Jantar Mantar. The announced this in front of press stating that the fast is for demanding for the strong Lokpal and for mobilizing against the black money.
In the joint press conference at Gurgaon they addressed that the government was bit scared of getting back the black money and they are kept in the safe heavens abroad and the IAC (Indian Against Corruption) Movement members are drafted to accept the Jan Lokpal Bill.
Mr. Anna Hazare is a very honorable person in the point of view of people and so many youngsters have joined hands with him in favor of his acts. Hazare said that his intention is not to make the government fall but if the government fails to listen to voice of people and when it falls and fails in such a case then it’s not a matter of concern.
The Lokpal bill is objected because it’s too weak and ineffective and Hazare has demanding for Jan Lokpal bill is strong and effective to be executed. He added that if Jan Lokpal bill if drafted then half of the ministers would move into jail. Nevertheless the drafting panel was formed last year to arrive at a conclusion to understand the bill against the corruption.
Jan Lokpal bill was discussed by government and it is sent to the parliament and referred by the standing committee. Government is cheating people as if they are considering the Jan Lokpal bill but the fact is they are rejected just in the drafting panel committee meetings.
Corruption is so deep rooted tree and it has to be removed or else society will vanish. The development funds have not in idea to reach the target groups and so it can impact on the growth.

Mamata should function with maturity: Justice Katju

On Wednesday in New Delhi at a press conference Katju said that to run a democratic country, chief minister Mamata Banerjee should have some mature manner and she should also remember she is not a street fighter anymore. This conference was held after the happenings against back drop of cartoon controversy.
Justice Markandey Katju while addressing the press conference said that she might have behaved more maturely and she is a chief minister for a state and not a street fighter. The way that she behaved is totally unadvisable and unacceptable. She must practice to function in the Democratic Party.
Regarding the question of the arrest of a professor in the case for posting the cartoon which is truly related with the Trinamool Congress on the Social networking website, Justice argued that Mr. Mamata Banerjee she learn to act as a administrator and however she is not a opposition leader too.
He said what is the matter if someone publishes a cartoon about great people, he added that many cartoons where even published about him and nevertheless he is a good well wisher of Mamata Banerjee and he wants her to behave well but she lack in it, he commented.
The most important aspect of it all is that the person of integrity was the West Bengal Chief Minister. The cartoon was to demonstrate the status of west Bengal government making its typical decision to ban the English dailies in Bengali newspaper and regardless of it; it’s from state funded and state aided libraries and raising issue with the union minister Sultan Ahmed of Trinamool congress.
Katju added that he is trying to hold back Mamata against her behavior without maturity. He also stressed that he would never allow Mamata to take up with such decision. The poser of cartoon involved all ministers who include Dinesh Trivedi, Mamata Banerjee, and Mukul Roy.

India set to test new Agni V missile on Wednesday

India’s indigenously developed nuclear capable ‘Agni-V’ ballistic missile with a strike range of more than 5,000 km is ready for the launch and the trial is likely to be held on Wednesday from the Wheeler Island off the Orissa Coast.
A senior ITR (Integrated Test Range) scientist told, “If everything goes as per schedule, the trial is likely to be taken up on Wednesday from the launch pad-4 of the ITR.”
Agni-V is designed and developed by country’s Defence Research And Development Organization (DRDO) scientists and is scheduled to be launched from a mobile launcher. The three stage missile is 17 metres tall and 50 tonnes in weight. Its three stages are powered by solid propellants.
According to DRDO scientists, Agni-V ballistic missile will have the capacity to carry a nuclear warhead weighing over one tone. It would be put into test for the first time with some advanced and indigenous technologies with the support of a mobile launcher.
If the trial of Agni-V missile is successful, it will club India into a select band of countries in the world to possess the technology for Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM).
The first trial of Agni-IV on November 15, 2011 was highly satisfactory in terms of its control and guidance system.

Salman Bashir is new Pakistan envoy to India
April 16th, 2012Pakistan government has announced the appointment of former Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir as new envoy to India. Foreign Office spokesman Moazzam Ahmad Khan said Salman Bashir will replace Shahid Malik, who is currently Pakistan’s envoy to India. Shahid Malik has completed a record five and half years stint as Pak envoy.
60 years old Bashir served as the India’s foreign secretary from April 2008 to March 2012. He will reach New Delhi within a month. His nomination has been cleared by Pakistani Prime Minster Yusuf Raza Gilani and the government of India has formally accepted the appointment.
Salman Bashir told, “We need to move on all tracks. We will do what is required to bring about a qualitative change. I look forward to being in Delhi and enhancing relations comprehensively and identifying opportunities.” He has been part of the Indo-Pak dialogue process following the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
Bashir also served as the Ambassador to Lithuania, Mongolia, China and Denmark. He had travelled to New Delhi when President Asif Ali Zardari made a day-long private visit to the country on April 8, 2012. During the visit, Zardari had met PM Manmohan Singh and offered prayers at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer.

West Bengal professor arrested for anti-Mamta Cartoons
April 14th, 2012A Kolkata professor and his neighbour are arrested by West Bengal police for allegedly posting a cartoon on a popular social networking site involving Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, Railway Minister Mukul Roy and former Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi. He was later released on bail.
Ambikesh Mahapatra, a professor of chemistry at the Jadavpur University has been arrested on charges of eve-teasing (Section 509 of the IPC), defamation (Section 500 of the IPC), humiliating a woman (Section 114 of the IPC) and causing offence using a computer (Section 66 A (b) of the It Act).
Ambikesh was assaulted last night, allegedly by Trinamool Congress activists, when he was returning to his residence in Garia. Then the police arrived at his door soon and arrested him. He will be produced in an Alipore court.
Deputy Commissioner of Kolkata Police Sujoy Chanda told, “Professor has been arrested for spreading derogatory messages against respectable persons.” It is being said that Ambikesh forwarded the mails to at least 65 people.
Professors of Jadavpur University have called an emergency meeting to discuss the matter.
Rebel Trinamool Congress MP Kabir Suman and Educationists Sunanda Sanyal slammed the police for making the arrest.

School teacher gets life imprisonment for killing Bihar MLA
April 11th, 2012A school teacher from Bihar was sentenced to life imprisonment on Tuesday by a special CBI court. Teacher Rupam Pathak killed BJP MLA Rajkishore Keshri in Purnia town last year. Designated CBI judge B N Singh had pronounced her guilty of stabbing Keshri to death on 4 January 2011 and fixed April 10, 2012 as the date to decide quantum of punishment.
On April 2, 2011, the CBI had filed the charge sheet against the teacher under section 304 of Indian Penal Code (culpable homicide not amounting to murder carrying a maximum punishment of life imprisonment).
In January 2011, Rupam Pathak had stabbed MLA Keshri with a kitchen knife in his residence at Sipahi Tola into a janta darbar. Mr Keshri died minutes after Rupam attacked him. She was in turn assaulted by people at the darbar. Soon after the murder of Keshri, the CM had recommended a CBI probe into the killing.
Earlier, in June 2010, Ms Pathak had filed a police complaint against MLA Rajkishore, accusing him of raping her in 2007 but later she retracted the statement in court. In September 2010, she went back to court and withdrawn her case. Four months later she stabbed him.

A teacher killed for not allowing cheating
April 10th, 2012Recently in a shocking incident, an honest school teacher in Haryana was allegedly killed for not allowing a student to cheat in an examination. The victim Rakesh Kumar was a Hindi teacher at Ramjas School in Sonipat town. He was crushed under the wheels of a car by two youth on 6th of April, while he was returning home from school on foot.
Rakesh was brought to Delhi in a critical condition, where he died on Saturday. The accused have been identified as Vikram Singh and Hari Om. Police have arrested both of them in the case. The accused Vikram and Hari Om had continuously pressed the victim to let their friend to cheat in class 12 board examinations but he refused every time and his refusal proved costly for him.
When Rakesh Kumar was mowed down by the accused, his father and brother were accompanying him. Victim’s younger brother Mukesh Kumar told, “They had threatened him with dire consequences if he refused to let the concerned student cheat in the exams. Rakesh has paid a very heavy price for his stand.”
The police have registered a murder case against Vikram and Hari Om. The state government admits more needs to be done to avoid such incidents and has promised justice for the victims.

Yuvraj Singh RETURNS!!

After receiving cancer treatment in London for several months, Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh came back to India on Monday, April 9. The left-handed batsman, who is currently in Boston, was diagnosed with a rare sort of germ cell cancer a couple of months back. He underwent three sessions of chemotherapy and was discharged from the hospital on March 18.
Yuvraj tweeted, “finally the day has come ! i am going home tomorrow ! cant wait , excited to see my friends and family ..see you india!! mera bharat mahan!”
30 years old Yuvraj Singh is not expected to play for a few months. It is expected that he would address the media on 11 April, where he would announce his future plans and details about treatment that he underwent.
Throughout his stay in Boston, he was active on Twitter and thanked well wishers for their prayers and support. Recently, Yuvraj met Sachin in London who had gone there to get a check up on a toe injury. He also missed the entire Australian tour and will miss the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 5 due to his ailment.

Rahul Gandhi accepts Bilawal’s invitation to visit Pak

India’s ruling Congress party general secretary Rahul Gandhi has accepted the invitation of Pakistan People Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to visit Pakistan. Son of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal, who is accompanying his father on his day-long trip to India, met Rahul Gandhi at the lunch hosted at Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s residence in New Delhi.
According to the report, 24 years old Bilawal was seated next to Rahul at the 7, Race Course Road, invited Congress secretary to visit Pakistan and the latter accepted the invitation. Rahul also invited Bilawal to visit India again.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was born Sep 21, 1988 and graduate from Oxford University. He is the eldest child and only son of late former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. He was appointed chairman of the Pakistan People Party after the assassination of his mother in 2007.
Sonia Gandhi did not attend the lunch. Instead, she sent a letter of regret. After the lunch, Zardari and his entourage left for Ajmer to offer prayers at the shrine of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti.
Bilawal shared the experience on Twitter. He posted, “Prez n I enjoyed Lunch with #Rahul #Gandhi and #PMSingh. lovely meal. much to learn from each other.”

Team Anna launches SMS card

To spread information about the campaign against corruption and to reach the maximum number of people, Team Anna has decided to launch a pan-India SMS card. In the first phase, one crore of the cards have been issued in Uttar Pradesh. Price of each card is Rs 25.
According to a Team Anna core member, the scratch card comes with a specific number and has been issued keeping in mind that something positive, negative and neutral coverage by the media.
The Anna SMS card will update the holder about what is happening with the India Against Corruption (IAC) for one year. With a database of more than 3 crore mobile numbers, the service, if used for bulk SMSing, would cost IAC Rs. 5 lakh at the existing market rate for SMSs.
An active member of Team Anna in Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Vaibhav Maheshwari told, “Faced with fund crunch, IAC has decided to rake up the money from the supporters.”
IAC has reportedly purchased bulk SMSes from a server in Mumbai.

Hyderabad: Expenditure on annual sanitation is likely to be down, GHMC

In Bangalore, the BMP contract workers move around the city for garbage collection. The contractor driven units system has been arbitrarily stopped as the GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) planned in bringing down the annual sanitation expenditure.
It has completely switched on to the seven member registered workers from this month onwards. As an effort to tune with the road sweeping and collecting garbage it has stopped the 18 members work in the contractor driven units system.
L. Vandan Kumar, Health and Sanitation Additional Commissioner said that the yearly bill that is been allocated is Rs. 183 crore and the expectation of the contractor point of view their margin range is 4%, service tax as 12.5%, salary for the workers could however reach Rs. 35 crore.
Additional Commissioner explained that they are planning to hand over the contract work to the same workers whom they formed the group and the individual bank accounts are already in the place and totally 830 groups and each with 7 individuals has formed the team.
Total of 978 units has been formed and out of which 255 work during day and 71 during night shift and it is split among the contract staff. These units are responsible for the core city. Speech with commissioner of Stamps and Registration Department on discussion of groups of the workers took place.
The units for Qutbullapur – 37, Uppal – 12, Alwal – 25, Karwan and Environs – 38, Gunfoundry and environs – 13, Secunderabad – 32, Himayatnagar and environs – 39, Khairatabad and environs – 50, Chairman and environs – 87. Contract units seem to constitute 30% but the plan remains malfunctioning with overall sanitation.
Extra unit sanctioned for 150 divisions, the supervisory staff which includes the health and medical officer attendance rate is noted to be very poor. This is one of the factor which leads to the cascading in the sweeping and garbage collection, reported the Additional Commissioner.

Kerala: Tale of a tiger, trapped and freed in Wayanad forest

Five year old male tiger created a sensation among the Kerala people near Krishnagiri, Wayanad District. This panic was spread out in Meenangadi in the Wayanad district. The male tiger was trapped in a cage, where it was used as bait. It was trapped by Forest and Wildlife Department officials.
They said that this is the rare event that has occurred in that region. The people felt very relief seeing that the tiger trapped, because it had attacked many domestic animals that Saturday.
In that process of transporting the animal, George Chandy (Veterinarian) certified that the male tiger is fit for travel and it happened to be the smooth process. The officials use the pulley system to cover the cage and ready it to transport it to safe location to free it.
During the travelling period the officials sprayed out water on the animal. It was just to keep it cool during this hot weather and nothing else. Using pulley they transferred the cage into the tractor.
The tractor was used for the transportation. When the place (forest) reached, the cage was opened out and the tiger smelled the freshness in the air. Tiger was happy and brisk after it had an uncomfortable weekend spending with humans and domestic animals.
It felt freedom in the forest. Nevertheless many stories we have heard her and there about man-animal conflicts and relationship but this one is really a happy and true ending. Wayanad has many wildlife sanctuaries and so the tiger strength used to be very denser in that area.
The National Tiger Conservation Authority reported that the tiger is abundant among the zone which covers the area of territories and the count ranges from 267 to 382 of tigers in total. However zone officials said that they have four tigers per hundred km area.

Cut off rate for the cancer drugs by Roche now at India

Development in the bio-medical engineering is very fast now days and so the rate for the cancer drugs has been reduced in greater range. That kind of development is now introduced in India. Natco Pharma is planned to manufacture and sell the cancer drugs that is used in the treatment.
The price of those drugs is 30 times lower than that is used in Bayer Corporation. However the headquarters of this Roche is being placed in Switzerland. Head of Middle East and Asian markets said that the daily prices would be slashed out in India starting next year.
In the plan to strength the position and to be strong in the rising competition from the drug makers Roche has plan to slash the prices of two expensive drugs (cancer drugs) in India, Wall Street Journal said.
He also reported that the drugs for which the price has been cut off, they will be sold out in new names in respect to India alone. This business strategy is to capture the market shares and to get generic name for brands of drugs in industry.
According to the daily news paper, they revealed that the drugs had to get new names in India. Roche promised that they would avoid losing their prices elsewhere. The patent holder is Bayer Corporation and they have charged 30 times lower price value in India for the cancer drug named Nexavar.
Repots says that the arrangement involve Herceptin and Mabthera the wholesale cost is ranges from $3,000 to $4,500. This price range is for a patient for a month period. Mr. Goeker said that the drugs will be packed by India based Emcure Pharmacy.
Offering low range values is not in the aim to gain business strategy but also the Roche Company would be compelled under Indian law to be allowed to produce less expensive copies of these generic drug makers.

Shekhar Suman to turn director for son Adhyayan

Actor Shekhar Suman has now decided to be a director for his son Adhyayan Suman. Adhyayan Suman is now set to act in a film ‘Heartless’. The movie is a medical thriller and Shekhar’s son will play lead role. The sources said that the Shekhar’s directorial debut is a remark of the Hayden Christensen-Jessica Alba starrer Hollywood hit, Awake.
The shooting of the film is expected to start in May this year. This film has Adhyayan with Giselli Monteiro. Since Shekhar is producing the movie, he is in talks with a few big companies to partner with.
Adhyayan states, “We are in constant touch with The Weinstein Company to buy the remark rights of the film because we do not want any copyright issues later. But it will not be an exact copy because the situations and characters are going to be altered.”
Sumans have approached writer Nina Arora to pen the script and screenplay while Niranjan lyengar is working on the dialogue.
Till Shekhar starts to shoot the movie, he is back to entertain the audience with his cult show “Movers & Shakers”. Social activist Anna Hazare will give his entry as the special guest on the premiere episode of the show.

Indian Guru Ravi Shankar to visit Pakistan
March 12th, 2012With an aim to strengthen India-Pakistan ties by promoting friendship, understanding and dialogue, spiritual head of Art of Living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar left for Pakistan on a three-day peace mission via the land transit route of Attari/Wagah border on Monday. He would return to India on March 14.
Before crossing over to Pakistan, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar told that he was going to Pakistan on Peace Mission where he would spread the message of peace and harmony. This is spiritual leader’s second visit to Pakistan. The first visit was in July 2004.
During his three-day visit, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will meet top leaders of the country to strengthen collaborative efforts between two countries. He will also meet with the religious heads in Pakistan to create awareness among common Pakistanis.
Sri Sri is also expected to meet spiritual leaders, business leaders, academics, student organizations and opinion leaders to make stronger joint efforts between neighbouring countries.
Besides visiting places of religious significance, he will be inaugurating an Art of Living centre too. He will enter Lahore from the Wagah border and then proceed to Islamabad and Karachi.
During his last visit in 2004, Ravi Shankar inaugurated the Art of Living’s stress eliminating programmes and humanitarian service initiatives.

Cabinet approves amendments to Motor Vehicle Act
March 3rd, 2012The Union Cabinet yesterday approved the amendments in the Motor Vehicle Act that suggests almost 10 times more penalty and action against those who violate the traffic rules in the country. The Motor Vehicle Act was framed in 1988 and was amended last in 2001.
The new bill will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha during the Budget session that has fines for using mobile phone while driving will be Rs 500 to Rs 5000. The bill introduces Rs 500 fine for not wearing seat belt and helmet or for violating a red signal for the first time. The fines will multiply, if the same offender violates the traffic rules subsequently.
According to the new law, if a driver is seen crossing the speed limit for the first time, he will have to pay Rs 1000 and Rs 5000 for subsequently offences. The fine could go up to Rs 5000 with a two-year imprisonment for reckless driving.
For drunk driving the penalty will also be Rs 5000, which is mainly responsible for accidents in the country. Drunk driving will be graded and the penalty as per the state of drunkenness.
According to a source, the amendments are meant to deal the traffic offences seriously.
