Indian pharma industry occupies the third position – Says President:

The Indian pharmaceutical industry occupies the third position in the world as the largest producer by the volume. The turnover will be reach up to $20 billion by 2015 from the present of $12 billion. This statistical information has been addressed by the Indian President Pratibha Patil on Sunday.
On the 71st Congress of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), Patil said that the Indian Pharma companies working hard to give up the best treatment for various diseases globally. This international meet has been held for the first time in India. Indian generic drugs have helped bring down the cost of treatment of various diseases world-wide, which includes HIV/ AIDS.
Patil said, “Indian pharma companies have an extensive presence in many parts of the world and our pharmaceutical products are known to be of good quality, safety and efficacy. India is playing a vital role in global pharmaceutical research to find solution for several diseases.
She said, “With its proven IT sector, demonstrated leadership in biotechnology, a vast pool of trained personnel and cost advantages, India can emerges as a significant player in global pharmaceutical research. Several MNC pharma companies are increasingly making India their R&D hub”.
India already has the larger number of US FDA approved plants outside the US and is expected to be among the world’s top five innovative hubs with contributions of around 50% to drugs discovered worldwide”. There is also a spurious drug which will be an injurious to health.
The government will take necessary steps to take care of those things and this is considered to be a crime. There is also some attention has to be given for the proper prescription, dispensing and sale of drugs. People will face problems when they are not put into the proper path. Medicines before purchassing from pharmacy they has to be checked well for their expiry dates.
